How to submitA Word's WorthManuscript Critiquing & Evaluation
BY EMAIL Submitting a manuscript by email is typically easier and faster for most writers. However, because I hesitate to open email attachments without knowing who they're from and what they contain, I request that you follow these instructions:
Copy and paste the entire information form into the body of an email and answer all questions. Attach your chapters/manuscript material to the email as Word or WordPerfect documents. (Your documents will be returned to you with Leigh's margin notes, along with a letter of evaluation.) Send submissions to leigh@leighmichaels.com. Payment options: MasterCard, VISA, or PayPal (send PayPal payments to leighmichaels@hotmail.com )
BY MAIL Enclose the information/submission form, filled out, signed and dated. Enclose the requested materials in standard manuscript format. Enclose check, money order, or credit card information for the stated fee. Enclose a self-addressed envelope large enough and already stamped with sufficient postage to return your materials to you. If you wish to receive notification that your materials have been received, please enclose a self-addressed, stamped postcard. What is "standard manuscript format"? Your chapter and synopsis should be double-spaced in 12 point type, in Times New Roman or Courier font, with one inch margins all around the page, averaging 250 words per page. Smaller type sizes are not acceptable. Are you under time pressure? If you need a quicker turnaround, email leigh@leighmichaels.com to work out a schedule.Would you like to look at samples? View a sample critique View a sample standard manuscript format Who will read and evaluate my work? Leigh Michaels will read and evaluate each submission and will write the feedback (critique and margin notes). Your work will not be read by anyone else. Other questions? Leigh reserves the right to return submissions if she feels she’s not the best person to evaluate your work. In such a case, the author’s check will be promptly returned along with the submitted materials. Stated fees are introductory rates and are subject to change. In the event of a fee change, previous rates will be honored for authors who have materials pending.
